* Please see IMPORTANT CHANGES that will affect how Patients make an appointment at Greyfriars Medical Centre*

DUE TO THE CORONA VIRUS AND FOR THE SAFETY OF PATIENTS AS PER CURRENT ADVICE WE ARE RUNNING A RESTRICTED SERVICE.

PLEASE TELEPHONE THE SURGERY IF YOU HAVE A MEDICAL NEED.

Due to the current COVID-19 crisis, all GP Practices in the region, working closely with NHS Dumfries and Galloway, have had to take the decision to change the way in which we deliver services in order to protect Patients and Staff.

Some non-urgent clinics and appointments will be suspended to allow GPs to focus on the most vulnerable Patients with the most complex needs.

Practices are open but all appointments will be by telephone initially, with follow on face-to-face appointments arranged only if absolutely necessary. Online booking services have been temporarily suspended.

Please do not attend the surgery unless you have a pre-arranged appointment made with the Practice.

GPs are able to deal with many problems over the phone and will be trying to deal with as much as possible in this way. Please be assured that if you need a GP, they will still be available to help you. The Practice staff may need to ask more questions to ensure you are dealt with in the safest possible way.

All prescriptions will be sent to your nominated chemist. For the safety of Patients and staff, please do not come to collect prescriptions from the Practice, they will be sent to your nominated chemist.

Please continue to order your medication as normal and do not order more than you need.

Greyfriars Medical Centre supports the Scottish executives policy on zero tolerance with the additional pressure, that everyone in our community is under at the present time, please respect the staff that are trying to help you.

We do not tolerate any verbal aggression, either at the front door, in the practice on the telephone or in the community. Failure to show respect to the Greyfriars team will result in removal from our list.

We are all working under tremendous pressure and we are trying to help you. Please help us by being tolerant of the current situation and respectful of our team.
