We have now received instruction from Dumfries and Galloway Health Board that certain clinics can be resumed. We will introduce these plans whilst maintaining Covid-19 capacity and resilience, these clinics will recommence over the next few months.

DUE TO THE CORONA VIRUS AND FOR THE HEALTH AND SAFETY OF PATIENTS AND STAFF THE PRACTICE IS RUNNING A RESTRICTED SERVICE AS PER CURRENT ADVICE WITH DETAILS HEREUNDER.

PLEASE TELEPHONE THE SURGERY FOR ALL MEDICAL REQUIREMENTS AND DO NOT ATTEND UNLESS THERE IS A

PRE-ARRANGED APPOINMENT.

Due to the current COVID 19 crisis all GP Practices throughout the Region have been working closely with NHS Dumfries and Galloway and the decision has been made to change the way in which GP services are provided and delivered in order to protect both Patients and Staff.

Some non urgent Clinics and appointments will be suspended to allow GPs to focus on the most vulnerable Patients and those with the most complex requirements.

The Practice is open and working during the normal and advertised hours but ALL appointments will be made by telephone initially with face to face appointments arranged if necessary. Online booking Services have been suspended temporarily. The system will be updated continually as further advice is received.

GPs are able to deal with many matters by telephone and will be dealing with as many as possible in this way. Please be assured though that if you require a GP that one will be available to deal with your concerns. The Practice Staff may however need to ask more questions to ensure that your concerns are dealt with in the best and safest way.

It is also very important that you do not attend the Surgery to collect Prescriptions as they will be forwarded to and can be collected from your nominated Chemist. Please continue to order any medication as normal and do not order more than required.

Greyfriars Medical Centre supports and works within the Scottish Governments Policies on Zero Tolerance and with the additional pressure that everyone is under at this present time it is important that the utmost respect is shown to Staff who are trying their best to assist and help you.

We will not tolerate any verbal abuse or aggressive behaviour either at the entrance, within the Surgery or on the telephone and anyone found to be abusive or aggressive could result in removal from the Practices Patient List. Staff are working under considerable pressure particularly under the present circumstances and are trying their best to help you so please be tolerant, patient and respectful when dealing with Practice Staff.
